Advanced Technology

Three Dimensional X-rays

This breakthrough technology allows us to see an unprecedented view of your tooth using 3D computerized reconstruction. This Kodak 9000 imaging system, called a cone beam scan, provides us with a 3-D high-resolution image of your teeth and surrounding tissues and allows us to provide a more accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. Because our system focuses only on the area of interest, the amount of radiation exposure is significantly reduced, delivering 10-30 times less exposure than other similar dental radiography systems.

Digital radiographs

in 1992, our office was one of the first in the country to implement this technology! It provides sharp, clear images right on a computer screen in real time, requiring just a fraction (1/10th) of the radiation of traditional film X-rays. This helps us explain your diagnosis and treatment on a large 17 inch monitor. Because the pictures are immediate we are able to complete your treatment much more efficiently and with the time saved we are able to complete your diagnosis and treatment in just one visit!

Operating Microscopes

Our office was also one of the first in the state to have microscopes.  They provide magnification and fiber optic illumination that is helpful in seeing the tiny details inside your tooth. This is especially important in calcified teeth, retreatment of previous root canals and in endodontic surgery.  Also, a video camera on the operating microscope can record images of your tooth to further document the doctor’s findings.

Electric Apex Locators

this small computer allows us to predictably, efficiently and accurately determine the exact location where the canal exits the tooth which is essential in cleaning and filling the entire canal. This also reduces the number of x-rays we need to take.

Ultrasonics

This allows us to predictably, efficiently and accurately determine the exact location where the canal exits the tooth which is essential in cleaning and filling the entire canal. This also reduces the number of x-rays we need to take.

Nickel titanium engine files

This system is designed to set the new standard in efficient and effective root canal preparation with continuous taper from orifice to apex. This allows the doctor to clean and shape the most calcified and tortuous canals to achieve levels of predictability and performance in canal cleaning that is unmatched.

Three dimensional filling equipment

The Obtura is very latest in thermoplastic obturation technology. Because there are numerous ramifications and accessory canals in the root canal system this device allows us to predictably and consistently fill the canals in three dimension

Regenerative Endodontics

Cutting edge research is currently developing techniques that will allow us to grow new pulp back into the roots of young undeveloped teeth, using a patient’s own stem cells. In the past, traditional root canal therapy would leave these teeth with thin roots that were susceptible to fracture. However, when successful, regenerative endodontics allows continued normal root development.

Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

Northwest endodontics has invested in an advanced, all-digital records management system that ensures the utmost confidentiality with all patient information. We’ve invested heavily in highly sophisticated software that stores all files digitally on our secure server. A strictly digital format allows for easy access to your information when needed for insurance records or per your request yet provides a secure, paperless in-office management system.
